Fohlenhof Ebbs - Riding and Driving

Since the end of the fifties and therefore for more than 50 years, Fohlenhof Ebbs has been a riding and driving farm. At the beginning the Fohlenhof was also called the Association Riding and Driving School but for many years now simply Fohlenhof Ebbs although the tradition has been kept up and the stud farm employs the most qualified riding and driving instructors in the whole of western Austria. In the past our instructors have won many championship titles; more than 20 titles have been won since the seventies. Our trainers are available year round for training horses for riding and driving and also for riders and drivers.  

We offer all versions of horse training only for purebred Haflinger true to the maxim of the Tyrolean Breeders' Association, from breaking-in for riding and driving to basic training for riding and driving, or the preparation for and completion of a test according to the regulations of the World Haflinger Federation, called Haflinger Aptitude Test.

For riding there are group or private lessons in dressage and jumping. For beginners the training is principally done individually on the longe. As we have a large stud farm which is visited by innumerable visitors there is also the possibility for the little ones to have a guided childrens ride. In addition there are riding courses with intensive training from Tuesday to Sunday, with practical and theoretical lessons grouped according to proficiency, for beginners of course individually on the longe. Furthermore each participant gets a horse to look after to give an insight into the daily work with a horse. The Fohlenhof Ebbs is also the largest riding club in Tyrol's State Association for Riding and Driving and as such we offer tests for riding certificates, riding pins and licences.  

For driving as well we offer training for horses which also includes breaking-in, basic training and preparation for a test. Drivers can also be taught by us in driving one-horse, pairs or four-in-hand. Driving courses are of course also held and there is an annual date for the Austrian Driver's badge or licence. There are comprehensive possiblites for training with one-horse to four-in-hand in all disciplines.  

The purebred Haflinger is known worldwide especially for its excellent character and quiet temperament making it particularly suitable for children. Very often the first contact is made with vaulting which is also a priority at Fohlenhof Ebbs. There are several dates available. 

Fohlenhof Ebbs is also a training farm for FENA (Austrian Association for Riding and Driving). Riding and driving lessons and drives with carriages or sledges can be booked in advance the whole year daily except Monday. Riding lessons for beginners are principally in the small hall, the large hall is used for other riding lessons. Also the arena is used for outdoor training for dressage, jumping and for one-horse carriages. The driving area and obstacles are also directly on the farm premises.   

A 50 year tradition of riding and driving with thousands of trained Haflingers in the whole world speaks for itself. The trust placed by young and old riders and drivers in the training farm Fohlenhof is in addition proof of the continuity and quality of the lessons and especially the training horses. The youngest riders and vaulters are 4 years old and our oldest regular rider is almost 85 years old. Sound training, trained employees and well trained horses are standard at Fohlenhof Ebbs. .
