13:00 - Ceremonial entry of the Haflinger young stallions

After 5 months at the Hengstalm, the time has come for our "young wild ones" to return home to the world centre of Haflinger horses for the winter. Each of the young stallions will be led by a Tyrolean Haflinger young breeder on the lead bridle from the pasture in Erl, via Niederndorf, through Ebbs to Fohlenhof Ebbs.

At around 1 pm they will enter the Fohlenhof festively decorated with flowers. Each stallion will first be presented individually to the visitors in the arena before they are then released together as a herd in the Fohlenhof Arena. No one should miss this impressive sight. You can see what a great leap in development the horses have made in the alpine summer.

After 5 months spent in the mountain pastures, our "Young Wild" stallions now return for the winter to the world centre of Haflinger horses. For the first time, each colt is led by a Haflinger young breeder by the halter from their mountain pasture in Erl, via Niederndorf to the Fohlenhof Ebbs.

About 1 pm, they will ceremoniously enter the Fohlenhof adorned with flowers. Each stallion will first be individually presented to the visitors, before being released together as a herd into the Fohlenhof Arena. Nobody should miss this impressive display. It is an impressive sight to see the major leap in development the horses have made in their summer mountain pastures.

For the 2 ½ year-old stallions, the end of the summer pasture also heralds the start of the preparation for the stallion selection, which traditionally takes place on the 1st Saturday in February. Preparing for the selection means that all the stallions undertake basic training in riding and driving as well as having to undergo a so-called breedability assessment. All the stallions who pass the selection procedure can then start their breeding activity from the beginning of March, although it is necessary for them to successfully complete the stallion performance test within one year.

Since 1947, the Tirol Haflinger Horse Breeding Association has traditionally raised its colts exclusively in this herd rearing manner in harmony with nature! This results in particularly well balanced top-class Haflinger stallions – simply Tirol Haflinger stallions.
