Performance test for mares
The Mare Performance Test consists of the following four parts:
- Test A: 30% - Basic gaits (Walk, Trot, Gallop)
- Test B: 25% - Rideability (with an unfamiliar rider)
- Test C: 30% - Driving Single Horse (Walk, Trot, Driving Style)
- Test D: 15% - Manageability (Hoof inspection, Saddling, Harnessing)
The performance test for mares is a 1-day field test where the mares are presented by their owner or a representative or trainer. The test is conducted by a judge recognized by the FEI or by the national equestrian and driving association and a representative of the Haflinger Horse Breeding Association of Tyrol.
All mares registered in the breeding book of the Haflinger Horse Breeding Association of Tyrol can be presented for this test and will receive an 'L' for performance-tested in front of their breeding book number upon successful participation, which will also be noted in the horse passport.
A successfully completed performance test is also a requirement for achieving the elite mare class at the Haflinger Horse Breeding Association of Tyrol. This attests to the high quality of the training standards of Tyrolean Haflinger horses.
