Sensational success at the 7th Haflinger World Show at Fohlenhof Ebbs

Six world champions, happy breeders and Haflinger friends from all over the world and over 20,000 visitors

Rain or shine, visitors were magically drawn to the Haflinger World Show on all four days. As a result, the 20,000 visitor mark was broken for the first time. “We knew that the anticipation for the Haflinger World Show was great everywhere, but even we would not have dared to dream of such a worldwide influx. We broke the 20,000 visitor mark for the first time. That's how much we realized. It was simply brilliant, says stud manager Robert Mair.

The oldest visitor we know of and certainly the one who traveled the furthest was a 91-year-old Australian woman who made the long journey just for the World Show. The worldwide Haflinger community is simply unique. Haflinger and horse lovers were able to celebrate enthusiastically for 4 days. Participants from 14 nations and many onlookers from all over the world make the Fohlenhof Ebbs a Mecca for all horse lovers. Visitors came from all over Europe and even from the USA and Australia to the Fohlenhof in Ebbs to admire the more than 700 beautiful Haflingers. This once again demonstrated the importance of this unique Tyrolean horse breed. The free travel throughout Tyrol with the VVT event ticket and the Haflinger Connect shuttle bus from Kufstein station with its 16 stops to the Fohlenhof Ebbs was also very well received by locals and guests alike.

“So much emotion, so much enthusiasm - what an extraordinary atmosphere among the participants & visitors. The stands were always full, the audience celebrated enthusiastically. It was simply sensational,” said Lukas Scheiber, Chairman of the Haflinger Horse Breeding Association Tyrol and President of the Haflinger World Breeding and Sport Association, who was delighted with the great response from visitors from near and far.

The large number of political representatives from the federal states of Tyrol, Vorarlberg and South Tyrol as well as Austria also showed their appreciation and interest in the Tyrolean Haflinger as a cultural asset with their personal visit. Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig took the opportunity to visit the Haflinger World Show in person and convey his greetings. Deputy Governor Josef Geisler even came twice and attended the opening and closing ceremonies, as did the Mayor of Ebbs, Josef Ritzer, members of the provincial parliament and many other dignitaries.

The Haflinger World Show Fest was simply a unique four-day festival. Whether it was the impressive visit to the oversized stable tents on the grounds of the Fohlenhof, where the breeders lovingly looked after their Haflingers and prepared them for the big show, the countless highlights such as the daily sold-out Int. Haflinger Show, the radio show U1 zu Gast or the ORF Musiktruch'n, the Tyrolean, country or Austrian evenings with live music in the festival hall, as well as many locals who came especially for the event: “Our concept of organizing a 4-day festival for the whole family with free public travel has been a complete success,” says Fohlenhof Managing Director Robert Mair, who is delighted with the success.

Right from the start, the visitors were excited and cheered on the breeders in the arena and on the rings as they presented their Haflinger horses. The breeders presented their horses in front of the 25 international judges and the respective class winners were determined on Thursday and Friday in front of a large and enthusiastic audience in the Fohlenhof Arena. On Saturday, the decisions for the national winners and the world winners were made on the “Haflinger Catwalk”. At the crowning finale on Sunday, all participating nations presented themselves and offered a fitting conclusion to the largest horse breed show in the world with the selection of the national winners.

The winner of this 7th Haflinger World Show is once again the Haflinger horse. This horse conquers the hearts of people all over the world and inspires with its universal usability, its charm and its personality.
