FAQ – 61st Tyrolean Haflinger Filly Auction 2027.

When and where will the filly auction take place?

On Saturday, September 25, 2027, starting at 10 a.m. at the Fohlenhof Arena at Fohlenhof Ebbs, the association stud farm of the Tyrolean Haflinger Horse Breeders' Association, Schloßallee 27-29, in 6341 Ebbs (Tyrol).

Which foals will be up for auction?

Exclusively purebred Tyrolean Haflinger filly foals from all seven bloodlines (A, N, W, M, ST, S, and B), classified into breeding value classes (Class I, IIa+, IIa).

When can I come see the foals in advance?

The foals up for auction will be delivered on Saturday starting at 7:00 a.m. Afterward, they can be viewed at your leisure in the multipurpose hall until the auction begins at 10:00 a.m.

How does auction day work?

Following the entrance of the Ebbs Federal Band and the official welcome, the auction will begin at 10 a.m. The foals will first be presented by bloodline and class, and then, in the Fohlenhof Arena, they will be presented and auctioned off by their breeders according to their catalog numbers.

Who is eligible to bid?

The auction is open to the public—all interested buyers of legal age, both domestic and international, are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We recommend registering as a bidder in advance. This ensures you receive your bid paddle and allows the auctioneer to identify you more easily and clearly in the audience.

Do I have to be a member of the association to make a purchase?

No. The filly auction is aimed at an international audience of buyers—from breeders to recreational riders.

I can't be there in person—can I still bid?

The Tyrolean Haflinger Horse Breeders’ Association offers a personal purchasing assistant service for this purpose: A representative of the association bids live in the arena on your behalf for the foals you’ve selected. A written agreement is signed in advance; on the morning of delivery, you will receive photos and a video of the selected foals in motion, and your purchasing assistant will contact you again by phone shortly before the foals are called. The service costs a one-time fee of EUR 50 and covers up to 5 foals (additional foals at cost). The registration deadline is 12:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the auction.

How much do they cost?

Prices are determined by the bidding war and depend on breeding value class, pedigree, and demand. In recent years, demand has consistently outstripped supply—so it’s worth arriving early and reviewing the catalog.

Are the prices net or gross?

The contract prices are listed net, plus the applicable value-added tax.

What happens after the contract is awarded?

The buyer and the association or breeder will make individual arrangements regarding payment and the pickup or transport of the foal following the auction.

Is there a catalog?

Yes, the auction catalog, which includes all foals, pedigrees, and breeding value classes, is published before the auction and is available through the association or on the website.

Do I need a ticket for the auction on Saturday?

Information about tickets and advance sales will be available well in advance of the auction at www.haflinger-tirol.com.

Is there parking available at the Fohlenhof?

Yes, there are parking spaces available for visitors right on the grounds in Ebbs.
